Luchtsnelheid en volume

Door een luchtsnelheid te meten kun je zien hoeveel lucht er door een luchtkanaal of leiding stroomt. Als je de luchtsnelheid vermenigvuldigt met de oppervlakte van dat kanaal weet je ook wat de volumestroom (ook wel luchtdebiet) is. Met de luchtsroommeting kun je vervolgens een ventilatiesysteem aansturen. Sommige meetinstrumenten kunnen de ventialtie direct regelen, maar de regeling kan ook met behulp een gebouwbeheersysteem of PLC.

Aan het meten van luchtstroimen zitten wel wat haken en ogen. Sommige luchtsnelheidsmetingen worden namelijk beïnvloed door de temperatuur en in mindere mate de barometerstand. Dit hoeft geen probleem te zijn als de temperatuur, zoals in een utiliteitsgebouw, constant is, maar bij een sterk fluctuerende temperatuur adviseren wij en luchtsnelheidsmeting met temperatuurcompensatie.
